Flotation (also spelled floatation) involves phenomena related to the relative buoyancy of objects.

An object floats on water or any other liquid easily but why does it float may it sink just like others on that same liquid.

Then what is the reason behind this, the main thing is the density of the liquid and the density of the substance.

If, suppose the density of the object is 0.98gm/m^3

and the density of water is 1gm/m^3 then this object will float. Why this will float? because the density of the object is lower than the density of the liquid.
